General Rules
The Moderator’s word and judgment is law, please obey it. Of course if you think a moderator is being unfair or is wrong, we are open for mature debate via PM on the topic. But remember we do not deal with immaturity, or name calling. In short be nice and mature to us, we will respect you back equally. We are wrathful gods. Don't make us wave the banhammer around, it's heavier than it looks.
Not everyone gets along; we are only human after all. If you and another player have a grievance, please keep it to private messages and off board, do NOT put it into your play or make it public to ruin other peoples fun or plot. If it gets bad, and you just can't deal with them, then PM one of us mods. We'll have a nice meeting with both of you and try to resolve things.
Advertising is to be kept to the advertising *link* section only. Ads in any other section will be deleted and your IP will be banzored. Please do not make an account just to advertise, as that area is guest-friendly.
All the above rules apply to the chat box as well. Be nice on there, avoid spam, and if you advertise your game, we will kill you.
Posting and You
Please try to check your spelling and grammar before posting, not that we are grammar Nazis in anyway but run your post through a checker first. (As a dyslexic my self it helps trust me) Speak for yourself. I'm pretty evil, and will yell at you if you consistently make large errors. Reading pig latin gives me headaches. All posts are to be done in 3rd-person, past tense.
No autokills with other player’s characters without their permission, on the same time no auto missing every type of attack all the time. This is called god-modding, and is frowned upon in most societies. Your password is Psylocke Likes Scones. If you aren't sure about something, discuss it with the other player via PM or instant messenger.
No pregnancies, rapes or killing Player Characters, unless the moderation team is asked via PM first. Do, however, feel free to start mini-plots—if it'll affect more than your characters, however, make sure you put up the basics of it in the plotting section.
We expect quality, not quantity, in posts. However, we despise one-liners, and will come after you if you use them. The minimum word count is 100, and the maximum is 600. Yes, a maximum word count! We're really tired of seeing people write novella-worthy posts, completely of filler/backstory, with only a few lines to respond to. Trust me, you can make your idea fit down into less. Really. We understand that people are busy, have real lives—weird, isn't it?—and so these are not absolute. If you absolutely must post more or less, do so. Just don't do it consistently, or we will use that big banhammer.
The base rating of this board is PG-13. Snogging, a little swearing, and finger-breaking is fine, anything more graphic is frowned upon. If you want to add in more sex or action than that allows, mark the thread title with an (M) or (R) to let us know you're doing the nasty.
There is no limit to the number of characters you can play. However, you must post once per week with every one of them before gaining a new one. All canons will be sent a PM at the end of one week inactivity, telling them to post. If they do not after two weeks, the character will go back up for grabs. The easiest way to avoid this is to post an absence note.
No posting in-character until your application has been accepted. You can post OOC and talk on the Chat Box, however—we encourage you to know your fellow gamers.
Creating a Character
Yes, we like OCs! However, please keep them reasonable. Not everyone can be a 15-year-old ninja with a mission to get revenge on their murdered parents. We will monitor OC applications for signs of sueness. If you aren't sure on something, ask one of us! We don't bite. Much.
Before you being your application, please check the taken character list. It will save you pain. Additionally, use the application format we provide—it makes everything nice and uniform, and does things a wee bit (okay, not much) differently than other bio forms.
All characters are to have a separate screen name, either their given name (first AND last) or their codename. You may have one OC/master name, such as ours, Mellosaur and XearX. Don't make them profane and avoid numbers, please.
All screen names are to have an avatar of their character. (not necessary for your OC account. Just stick something random there) Signatures are optional, but should be no larger than 300 pixels wide and 100 tall. This is to avoid breaking the skin, and to keep us from scrolling through more signature than post.
If you are playing a canon, it is preferred that you use an image from the comics rather than a celebrity's photo. Ocs can use whatever they feel like, although you'll want to check/post in the Taken Play-Bys thread. *link*
Angelina Jolie is not to be used for Play-Bys. Don't ask.
Characters will not always get along with other characters, and realistically have their own opinion of people different from them. With this in mind it is realistic to expect some mutant hate, gender discrimination, racism and other forms of judgment based on what a character is both positive and negative. See the article on realism here
And, just because it needs to be said, HAVE FUN!!!!!
No. Please don't.
Note: us mods retain the ability to change these rules at any time, and to ban members without warning or explanation. We're pretty nice, though, so if we don't say anything, there's generally a very good reason why.
